Bicycle Safety Question And Answer With San Diego Mayoral Candidates

The San Diego County Bicycle Coalition has published the transcript from a Q & A session between the Livable Streets Coalition, a conglomeration of non-profit organizations dedicated to urban planning, transportation and public safety and the current San Diego mayoral candidates, David Alvarez, Kevin Faulconer and Nathan Fletcher (no longer running). A representative of Livable Streets asked how downtown, which currently accommodates 30,000 residents, will accommodate the planned influx of 60,000 new residents while still remaining accessible, transportation-wise. Elementary Students In San Diego Receive Free Bicycles

Happy Holidays from attorney Joshua Bonnici and his legal team. We hope that you enjoy this wonderful time of year with friends and family. The San Diego Police Department and Fleet Weather Center’s Navy Crew are working hand in hand with MTS to add an educational element to the gift giving. Each of the first-grade students receiving a bicycle will also partake in a transportation safety course covering proper bus, rail and bicycle…

According to ABC 10 Local News, the San Diego City Council voted unanimously to adopt the Bicycle Master Plan on December 9.  The well-received plan has been in development for five years. Councilman Mark Kersey said, “This is an extremely well-researched and impressive plan.” In addition, both mayoral candidates, David Alvarez and Kevin Faulconer, are public supporters of the plan. The plan will, over the course of 20 years, develop the San Diego bicycle infrastructure by adding an additional 595 miles of bicycle safe zones to the existing 72 miles of paths, 309 miles of lanes, 113 miles of routes and 16 miles of freeway shoulders. “We want to get more people riding as a mainstream form of transportation,” said the executive director of the San Diego Bicycle Coalition. “Bicycling can transform our…
