California Cyclist Suffers Head Injury After Accident

According to Glendora.Patch.com a bicyclist has suffered a personal injury after falling off of his bicycle in Los Angeles county on July 5.  The bicycle accident occurred on Galatea Street near the Barranca Avenue intersection.

The rider—whose name has not been released—was treated at the USC Medical Center.  Officer Kerri Rivas said the cause of the bicycle accident was unknown and declined to comment on the cyclist’s status in the hospital.  The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation because the accident occurred in an unincorporated part of Glendora.  Sgt. Matt Williams if the Glendora Police Department said that they do not have jurisdiction in the area of the accident.  It was unclear whether or not the cyclist was wearing a helmet or reflective/visible clothing at the time of the accident, which occurred at 9:25 p.m.

The extent of the injury was unknown, although it is possibly a traumatic brain injury
