San Diego Bicycle Accident Attorney Examines Local Fatal Accident

An unidentified white male died in a bicycle accident in San Diego on January 3, according to CBS News 8. According to reports, several vehicles struck the cyclist in the Kenny Mesa area. The cyclist was riding westbound on Balboa Avenue near the Interstate 805 overpass. The cyclist was initially struck by a Ford Expedition; he was then struck by two other vehicles. He was pronounced dead on the scene, and the accident remains under investigation. Until the investigation progresses, it is difficult to assess what caused this accident and who may be at fault. Each year approximately 67,000 cyclists are hospitalized with injuries from accidents in the United States. In 2008, 716 cyclists died in accidents. San Diego Bicycle Accident Attorney Looks at Fatal Trail Collision

An unidentified man was killed in a bicycle accident on the Santa Ann trail on December 28, according to the Orange County Register. Paramedics responded to a distress call about a collision on the trail around 6 p.m. The man was rushed to the Western Medical Center in Orange County where he was pronounced dead. Westminster California Highway Patrol Officers confirmed that a cyclist collided with a pedestrian on the trail but did not specify if it was the cyclist or the pedestrian who died. The accident remains under investigation. Cyclists riding on a bike path should not let their guard down any more than if they are riding along a road. A monument erected at Boston University to honor the victim of a fatal bicycle accident has become known as the “ghost bike” because of its white color and what it stands for. Christopher Weigl was a 23-year-old graduate student at Boston University who was killed in a collision involving a commercial truck near campus on December 6. Monuments like this are used to mark the spots where a cyclist has been killed in a collision with a motorist.
