Former NFL Quarterback Joey Harrington was seriously injured in a bicycle accident in which he was struck by an SUV. The accident occurred in Portland, Oregon on July 31. The former number 3 overall draft pick was riding his bicycle on the side of the road—one without bike lanes—when the driver, a 26-year-old male, ran into him from behind. “The impact…put him on top of the car,” John Harrington, his father, told reporters. “Joey ended up upside down and came down on his head and shoulder and then skidded off to the side.” Harrington suffered a broken collarbone, a punctured lung and a cut on his head.
