National Recall Issued for Defective Bicycle Helmets

According to AllHeadlineNews.com, thousands of bicycle helmets were recalled recently due to a faulty chinstrap.  The defective bicycle helmets were all in North America and were manufactured by Bell Sports, a California company.

One of the reports that Bell Sports received was about a cyclist who was injured in a bicycle accident and the bicycle helmet failed, requiring the cyclist to be treated for injuries and receive stitches below his eye.  The defective bicycle helmet is intended to be a full-face helmet that is intended for younger cyclists.

Approximately 31,000 helmets were sold in the United States and an additional 2,500 in Canada.  The defective bicycle helmets were sold on Amazon.com and in Wal-Mart.  In an attempt to increase national bicycle safety, Bell is offering a replacement of refund for customers of the defective bicycle helmet.
