A car struck actor Gene Hackman in the Florida Keys as he was riding his bicycle on January 15, sending him to the hospital with injuries. Responders airlifted Hackman, 81, to a nearby hospital. A representative for Hackman told TMZ that he “suffered bumps and bruises after a woman bumped him from behind in her vehicle.” The Florida Highway Patrol is investigating the bicycle accident. Initial reports were that Hackman suffered serious brain injuries, but those were inaccurate. “Gene Hackman was taken to a hospital for routine tests after being bumped from behind while riding his bike today in the Keys,” said the representative. “He’s suffered minor bumps and bruises and is already on his way home.” It is unknown whether or not Hackman had a bicycle helmet on at the time. No charges were filed against the motorist. Bonnici Law Group, APC—San Diego personal injury attorney.
