San Francisco Cyclist Killed After Being Hit By Truck

According to the San Francisco Chronicle, a female cyclist was killed on July 20 after she was struck by a delivery truck in San Francisco.  Nancy Ho, 25, was hit in the South of Market neighborhood. She was taken to San Francisco General Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 9:30 p.m. that night.  According to police reports, Ho was not wearing a bicycle helmet. The truck that hit her was described as a 2001 Isuzu box truck.  The police report indicated that Ho made an illegal left turn in front of the truck. Ho was not required by law to be wearing a bicycle helmet.  Many cyclists are divided on whether or not adults should be required by law to wear helmets, but in this case it likely would have saved the life of the cyclist.
