San Diego Bicycle Accident Attorney Weighs In on Ghost Bikes

A monument erected at Boston University to honor the victim of a fatal bicycle accident has become known as the “ghost bike” because of its white color and what it stands for. Christopher Weigl was a 23-year-old graduate student at Boston University who was killed in a collision involving a commercial truck near campus on December 6. Monuments like this are used to mark the spots where a cyclist has been killed in a collision with a motorist. The ghost bikes first began to appear in St. Louis in 2003 following a bike accident, and there are currently over 500 around the world. “It could have been black, which would have been obvious, but white is sort of more honorific somehow,” said Eric Grunwald, an employee at Boston University. “It’s like a statement as much as a memorial, that something needs to be done. San Diego Bicycle Accident Attorney Weighs in on Fatal Collision

A young man in San Antonio recently lost his father in a bicycle accident, and he is determined to make sure others do not have to go through the grief and hardship he has endured. James Shepard, 44, died in a bicycle accident just north of downtown San Antonio when he was struck by an SUV. James was riding home from work after dark. He was riding without a helmet, lights or reflectors on his bike. He was not riding in a bike lane. James’ son, Kyle Goff-Shepard, was heartbroken to learn the news. “It would be nice if everyone wore helmets, you know a lot of bicyclists do but I see people that don’t, and where dad’s wound was on his head, I honestly feel if he was wearing his helmet I feel this might have been a little different as well,” said Kyle. San Diego Injury Attorney Applauds Charity Riders

San Diego injury attorney Joshua Bonnici applauds participants in the San Diego Bicycle Club’s 25th annual Toy Ride on Saturday. The slow-paced ride is lead by Santa Claus, and riders brought unwrapped presents for the Salvation Army to provide for needy families in San Diego. Participants of all ages departed from the UC campus in La Jolla and rode for 50 miles. Dudek rode for his third straight year on a tandem bicycle with his partner from the Blind Stokers Club, which pairs blind cyclists with another rider on tandems.
