Even when a cyclist is exercising every sort of safety precaution—including wearing a bicycle helmet, maintaining their bike, wearing visible clothing and obeying traffic laws—there are times when a bicycle accident is unavoidable. If you find yourself involved in an accident with an automobile, there are things you can do to minimize the damage and injury. It is always a good idea to ride with some sort of ID and preferably your health insurance card as well—or a Road I.D.
