San Diego Bicycle Accident Attorney Looks at Fatal Trail Collision

An unidentified man was killed in a bicycle accident on the Santa Ann trail on December 28, according to the Orange County Register. Paramedics responded to a distress call about a collision on the trail around 6 p.m. The man was rushed to the Western Medical Center in Orange County where he was pronounced dead.

Westminster California Highway Patrol Officers confirmed that a cyclist collided with a pedestrian on the trail but did not specify if it was the cyclist or the pedestrian who died. The accident remains under investigation.

Cyclists riding on a bike path should not let their guard down any more than if they are riding along a road. It is important to be prepared and follow all bicycle safety laws. If a path is crowded and being used by other cyclists and pedestrians, riders should slow to a safe speed.

We can only hope that the investigation of the accident provides some insight that may help to reduce the risk of this happening again in the future. If you or a loved one has been injured in a bicycle accident, please contact our firm for a free consultation.
