15-Year-Old Boy Killed In Tragic Bicycle Accident

According to the Belmont-Ca.Patch.com, a 15-year-old boy was killed in a tragic bicycle accident on July 22 after being hit by a car.  The boy was identified as Kijana Crossley by the San Mateo County Coroner’s office. The accident occurred around 5 p.m. on the 100 block of Palmetto Avenue in Pacifica.  Responding police officers attempted CPR on the boy before he was taken to San Francisco General Hospital, where he died from his injuries. Crossley—who is a student at Oceana High School—may have been at fault in the accident according to preliminary reports.  Captain Dave Bertini noted that Crossley was not wearing a helmet and may have swerved in front of the car. “It was a tragic accident,” Bertini said. California Man Killed in Fatal Bicycle Accident

According to the San Jose Mercury News, a 31-year-old man was killed on July 4 after he was struck by a car while riding his bicycle.  According to the Santa Cruz County Sherriff’s-Coroner’s Office, Noel Hamilton was riding down Soquel-San Jose Road near Oneill Lane at the time of the tragic bicycle accident, approximately 10:10 p.m., according to investigators.  California Highway Patrol officer said that Hamilton was struck by a car traveling in the same direction and was not wearing a bicycle helmet. Hamilton was pronounced dead at the scene, although the exact cause of death has yet to be determined, according to sheriff’s deputy April Skalland. The driver of the vehicle initially left the scene of the accident.  Approximately 40 minutes after the collision was reported on the news, the driver of a white Infiniti returned to the scene, claiming to have witnessed the accident.  CHP treated the witness…

California Cyclist Suffers Head Injury After Accident

According to Glendora.Patch.com a bicyclist has suffered a personal injury after falling off of his bicycle in Los Angeles county on July 5.  The bicycle accident occurred on Galatea Street near the Barranca Avenue intersection. The rider—whose name has not been released—was treated at the USC Medical Center.  Officer Kerri Rivas said the cause of the bicycle accident was unknown and declined to comment on the cyclist’s status in the hospital.  The California Highway Patrol is handling the investigation because the accident occurred in an unincorporated part of Glendora.  Sgt. Matt Williams if the Glendora Police Department said that they do not have jurisdiction in the area of the accident.  It was unclear whether or not the cyclist was wearing a helmet or reflective/visible clothing at the time of the accident, which occurred at 9:25 p.m. The extent of the injury was unknown, although it is possibly a traumatic brain…
