Two Cyclists Killed In Two Weeks In Small Texas Town

For the second time in a week, a cyclist died in a car accident in Bellmead, Texas.  Eulogio Castaneda died in the early morning of September 27.  He was struck by a car and pronounced dead on the scene. The driver of the vehicle was hospitalized with minor injuries.

The week before, a hit-and-run driver struck 14-year-old Jourdon Moore on his bicycle. Police later arrested a 14-year-old girl in connection with the hit-and-run and charged her with manslaughter after receiving an anonymous tip.

In order to prevent accidents, it is important for motorists to share the road with cyclists and for cyclists to follow bicycle safety laws.
