Bicycle Helmet Saves Life Of 4-Year-Old Boy

A 4-year-old boy in Urbandale, Iowa is lucky to be alive after a car hit him while he was riding his bicycle, according to the Chicago Tribune.  Apparently, a toddler who was playing inside the vehicle knocked the transmission into neutral, causing the car to roll and hit the 4-year-old.  The car rolled into a 7-year-old as well, before rolling over the 4-year-old boy’s head.

His bicycle helmet saved his life.  Both of the children who were hit went to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.  This is far from your common bicycle accident, but it still a great example of a bicycle helmet saving a young life.  If you start practicing bicycle safety from a young age, children will become used to wearing a helmet and make it a habit.
